Recruitment Process Outsourcing: Partnering approach for Seamless Execution
Greenfield Airport in West India
The Philippines based Construction giant won a bid as a Sub-contractor for one of the key International Airports of West India in 2017. The task before them was to initiate the construction work immediately and finish the 1300-Crore value project within an agreed time. The main challenges faced by the Company were
- Unknown human resources challenges in the Indian Market
- As per the MoU with the State and Union Governments, 50% workforce should consist candidates from the same state.
As the client was new to India, they had to start from the scratch; they would want to take the first set of candidates only from Airport industry so as to build a strong base for the company to start up.
When CareerTree was roped-in as a recruitment partner we suggested the RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) model to address all aspects of hiring norms given the shortest lead-time made available. We deployed experienced consultants who had thorough understanding of the talent availability in the state and the challenges associated in getting them on-board.
The team at client site took care of the end-to-end recruitment- from sourcing till induction. The back end team extended able support by proactively connecting to potential candidates in the Airport sector through multiple sourcing avenues. With this approach there was a seamless coordination between the client and our team (cv scrutiny, interviewing, offer working, antecedent verification, joining formalities completion etc.) – and that resulted in on-boarding the candidates as planned.
A detailed mapping was done to spot the candidates who are domicile of the State who currently are employed outside the state but willing to return to their native. This strategy helped as they were found to be more suitable to the work demands (esp. in project stage), skill match and aspiration match.
Another exercise was carried out to map the potential candidates within the State and PAN India in the construction & mining industry. This exercise helped the management (detailed tracker submitted for each position hired) in taking informed choice decisions in hiring.
